We now have a brand new light sport aircraft online, the Thorpedo. This is a fine example of the new category of aircraft manufactured in accordance with the FAA's new sport plane and sport pilot classification. The Sport Pilot certificate can be obtained with about half the hours of a regular Private Pilot Certificate. There are some limitations on this new certificate but it is designed to get new pilots in the air quicker and at a lower price point than the more comprehensive Private Pilot License.
